Thirty something years ago, I was the kid at the back of the class, head in the clouds, who cartooned all over ev - er - y - thing. Aliens, farting pigs, chickens, you name it ended up on my assignments, desk, friends, their assignments, and the school walls....
Time passed. I graduated, and decided to grow up for a while. I got a real job as a geologist in the oil industry. I went running, skiing, climbing, and biking a lot. Occasionally that kid in me would emerge and a cartoon would sneak onto one of my maps, making my co - workers laugh. But I didn't have time for that kid and would return to being an adult.
And then I met an awesome guy who skiied, climbed, and biked with me. Together we had 3 great kids - who I lovingly call the pirates.
Those 3 pirates remind me that we don't always have to be all grown up. They've inspired the creative kid in me who loves to cartoon to come back. It's time to write fun books that make my kids (and hopefully you!) laugh in these unprecedented, crazy times.
Why is there a cat in the background here you ask? She's our rotten cat Sophie. Sophie and I discuss book ideas endlessly while she sheds on my art tablet.
I hope you enjoy these books as much as I loved writing and illustrating them!
